[Buddha-l] S. Pinker (linguist, cognitive psychologist)

Pinker is now at Harvard. I happened to notice his statement of support
for their president in the recent squabble and subsequent
(non-binding) faculty vote of no-confidence. His book *The Language
Instinct* not only won awards, but was a NY Times bestseller. It also
happened to be used as the main text for an intro to Linguistics course at
the U of Pennsylvania in 1990's.  Language lovers at M.I.T. must have
been enthralled when Pinker began taking on Chomsky!
