[Buddha-l] Buddhism and blasphemy

This title of this thread is Buddhism and blasphemy. Anyone who wishes
to address that topic is welcome to do so. (Someone, for example, might
like to point out that "to blaspheme" means to revile or speak ill of
someone, and that this is discouraged in the speech precepts, even if
what one says happens to be true. If someone would say that, it would
save me the effort of saying it.)

If all you have to say is something about the culture clash between
conservative Muslims and liberal Europeans (or between liberal Muslims
and conservative Europeans, or between liberal Muslims and conservative
Muslims), then consider posting it elsewhere. (Of course, if you can
work in a slur against Republicans or Canadian Conservatives, the
moderators will give you some latitude, since criticizing the values of
neo-conservatives is an indirect way of upholding the values of
Buddhism.)
