[Buddha-l] Brahma & Abraham

I once ran into an Israeli woman who was into yoga, who thought
that the 6-pointed Sriyantra was related to the Star of David.

It can be a fun game, but awfully distracting (as well as
erroneous).
I have fallen for it too.

=======================

Due to Hebrew sandhi rules (yes, Hebrew also has sandhi rules)
the second letter of the Hebrew alphabet, bet (b sound) is
pronounced like a "v"
instead of a "b" when not the strong initial of a syllable, so
the actual Hebrew pronunciation of the patriarch's name is
avraham -- not abraham.
(av-ra-ham)

So much for false cognates. You are not the first person to want
to tie them together.
