Interesting suggestion: first hack the NYT and then leave a poster of 
the Confucian Institute as a sign. :-)
But seriously: I agree that this article is full of ambiguities and 
paradoxes. Perhaps a good idea for a new Harry Potter story, or perhaps 
a new book about the Karmapa code?
