[Buddha-l] Meteorite Buddhist statue brought to Germany by SSexpedition

Yes - I was rather wondering about the unusual dress and hat and the
rather Nordic appearance of Vaisravana. Perhaps Schäfer or another
member of his expedition got someone in Tibet or Mongolia to carve it.
A friend had a copy of a 1930's book in German, printed in
black-letter script, about that expedition. Many of the photographs in
that book looked to me like they were deliberately set up or contrived
to show some link to Nazi belief and symbolism. This could be
something similar.
