The article is interesting. Also on that site a slide show, with spectacular 
pictures, includes captions which are terse but provide additional 
information beyond what was mentioned in the article.

Climate change is also killing off their way of life, and the youth have 
already been fleeing to Katmandu, etc. for jobs. So China bringing modernity 
is, sadly, nonetheless timely. What that means for the preservation of 
Tibetan culture or the Mustang way of life is another story.
