In Kapstein's translation, these are: the principle of dependence
(apekṣāyukti), the principle of efficacy (kāryakāraṇayukti), the
principle of valid proof (upapattisādhanayukti), and the principle of
reality (dharmatāyukti).

Indian Buddhist sources that discuss these include the tenth chapter
of the Saṃdhinirmocanasūtra,  the Abhidharmasamuccaya(bhāṣya), the
Śrāvakabhūmi, and Vasubandhu and Sthiramati's commentaries to the
Mahāyānasūtrālaṃkāra (though a slightly different fourfold list is
found in the mūla text).
