This must be out in paperback, original hardback was several times the cost.

More importantly, this book is excellent and manages to balance specialist scholarship in the contest of broad interdisciplinary interest. Bill has a handle on the basic questions "inquiring minds" east and west grapple with and the history of ideas exposition make this very accessible despite the specialist expertise basis of the book.

He is also very generous and patiently answers my dumb questions when called upon at his Middlebury College email address.
