Sorry to hear that Conze's Materials didn't help on this one. Even with its
shortcomings it is a valuable resource. Many scholars use its equivalents
for their own translations.

海印三昧 also occurs about 20 times in the MahA-ratnakuta-sUtra 大寶積經
T.11.310, but only a few sections of this (actually it is a compilation of
various sutras) survive in Sanskrit. The main concentration of occurrences
is in fascicles 21-25 (esp. fasc. 25), which is the VarmavyUha-nirdeza sUtra
被甲莊嚴會. I don't know whether a Skt version presently exists for this.
