  I'm sorry to hear that.  My father developed dementia, likely of vascular origin.  I looked after him the last few years of his life; he passed away at the end of 2006.  Now I look after my mother.  (I live with her.)  Her mental faculties are intact, but she has numerous physical ailments.  From part-time help 3 days a week, I recently went up to having more help at home, 5 days a week.  Taking care of aging parents is one of the toughest jobs around.
