THE TRAP (LA TRAPPE)
FRIDAY, MAY 15, 6pm,
SPERRY ROOM, HARVARD DIVINITY SCHOOL
Sponsored by the Pluralism Project.
Lina Verchery's (MDiv '10) first documentary film, THE TRAP, has been
internationally broadcast and won for 'Best French Documentary Short' at
the /2008 Festival International du Cinéma Francophone en Acadie/(FICFA).

THE TRAP explores the surprising connection between the French-speaking
Acadian lobster fishermen of Chéticamp and their neighbors: the Buddhist
monks and nuns of Gampo Abbey, Shambhala's monastic headquarters.
Although seemingly divided by language, culture and religion, these two
communities nevertheless share more than meets the eye.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Dr.
Christopher Queen, Frank Reynolds and writer/director Lina Verchery.

Please join us afterwards for a reception.
Entrance is free and open to the public.

Co-sponsored by Alliance Francaise, Boston Shambala Center, Consulate
General of Canada in Boston, Cooperative Metropolitan Ministries, and
the French Consulate of Boston.
