The birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lamas is there, where a huge
monastery is located that HHDL helps to maintain. Happy to see
HHDL finally goosing the Chinese government, for a change. (The
Taiwan visit was, er, slightly embarrassing because of the local
politics motivation.) There are several Buddhist monasteries in
Arunachal P., so he certainly has good reasons for visiting, at
their invitations. Also, after fleeing Lhasa in 1959 he entered
India via Tawang, in Arunachal P. The Tibetan government gave
this land to the British government of India in 1914, as per
treaty. Typical of the PRC, they insist-- while jacking up their
propaganda machine full time and acting like thugs-- that history
and even a treaty doesn't matter, it is really THEIRS. Screw
that! Bharatmata Vijay!

Now let's see if the Indian government craps out and refuses HHDL
entry to Arunachal. At this time India is reinforcing their
borders in the area, due to China's continuous upgraded military
pressure and persistent demands to turn over that territory to
them, a demand which India is not about to grant.
