Dear Buddha-L'sters:

On behalf of Patheos.com, I'm very pleased to extend a most cordial
invitation to you, your colleagues and peers, teachers and graduate
students. When convenient, please take a few minutes to visit Patheos.com
and consider writing for us. Patheos brings together the public, academia,
and faith leaders in a single environment, where people gather on a regular
basis for credible and balanced information and resources about religion and
spirituality. You can expect a rich array of questions, issues, and
discussion materials for education and experience, contemplation and
conversation.

Please let your colleagues and peers, teachers and graduate students, know
about the recent launch of the Buddhist portal at Patheos, where their
writings (previously published or original) would be most welcome for
articles or blogs. (Anyone who creates a user login on the site can create
an individual blog. The title for the Buddhist blog area is being
determined, as I write — suggestions welcome.) This is an excellent venue
from which to reach a broad, intelligent, international audience.

Upcoming Public Square topics (to be addressed throughout the site, from all
creeds) through June: *Interfaith Marriage and Family, Science, \Rites of
Passage and Ritual Life, and Fundamentalism. Previous topics include
Religion and Sexuality, Miracles and Mysteries, Conversion, and Religion and
the Movies.*

The Buddhist portal, soon to go "live," will be at :

BACKGROUND
Patheos* is a mash-up of "path" and "theos." Patheos.com delineates key
differences between religions as well as illuminates areas of common
ground. Its founders, husband and wife Leo and Cathie Brunnick, have
created a library of the histories and belief systems of 50 (and counting)
of the world's faiths, along with maps of their origins, so people can learn
more about their own faith and explore others in a non-sectarian format.
Each week experts from various creeds present provocative writings on a new
topic, such as religion on the web, money, abortion, holidays, etc. For
more information: http://www.patheos.com/About-Patheos.html

With my best wishes for all good things,

Gary Gach, Buddhist Portal Manager, Patheos.com
