There is also the work by Herbert Benson, a Harvard cardiologist, I
think, who discovered that meditation and prayer help recovery from Hear
Attacks. I am not sure this is what you are looking for, but his famous
book is "The Relaxation response."

Subject: Re: [Buddha-l] Meditation/Stess/Research

 Rahula asked:

"Can anyone give me a few references to researches (in journal etc)
that supports the view that meditation reduces stress."

I might be able to give you some leads.

The University of Wisconsin has done recent work on this. Emory
University has also been investigating it.

Try www.sciencedaily.com archives search (bottom of page). In the last
several years, a lot of headlines came from this research. If you
search a bit in these articles, you can probably find the studies in the
original journals. Always look at the sidebar, "Related News Stories."

 Hope this helps.
