Well as long as people are ragging on old Maharishi - it is common 
knowledge that many Tantric Buddhist initiations involve dire warnings 
about eternal damnation. There is plenty of craziness to go around - but 
anyone who goes nuts after doing any given practice probably had a head 
start. Caveat Meditator.
