Hemorrhoids are a chronic and annoying occupational hazard for
monastics who do a lot of sitting (worse than sore knees).
Sitting creates hemorrhoids, and hemorrhoids make sitting
uncomfortable. May be one reason far fewer monks engage in
sitting practice than many people imagine...
