[Buddha-l] Buddhists taking a stand against Islamaphobia

The formatting of my messages, sent to the list using plain text, is getting
bungled and taking twice as long to read -- not just my stuff but everything
on the page, thanks to long breaks between sentences and paragraphs. Hasn't
happened before. I don't get what the problem is.

I'm sending this via HTML instead of plain text to see what happens this
time around.

This has one big flaw: human beings are not rational and are not aware

of what they are doing most of the time, even if they are sober. The

problem with all these modern philosophers is that they only can deal

with people that fit into their musings and not the ones they meet, hate

and love.

Aham annam annam adantam admi, says the Taittiriya Upanishad: 'I am the
food, and I am the eater of food.

Another version, I think from Brihadaranyaka Up. (?) says, All the cosmos
(or world) is food and eaters of food.

This idea can be understood in a variety of ways, but in any case, the
ancients of India understood full well the nature of things. The Buddha was
right---this can be dealt with by taking a middle way, of moderation in all
things. I wonder, with Stephen Bachelor, if anyone ever got enlightened to
the point that this Upanishadic awareness of reality (or other awarenesses)
simply vanished.
