My receiving version of the list accepts both plain and HTML from some
computers but messes with plain apparently from other computers--will check
into it.

What I sent via HTML came out perfectly formatted.

Buddha-l is configured to strip all HTML. I have heard that many mailers
that send things out in HTML also send a plain text version. If the
receiving mail program is set to allow only HTML, the plain version is
discarded, or vice versa. Buddha-l was set up to discard the HTML version.
At least it used to be.
