[Buddha-l] Did the Buddha settle down?

i'm reading 'A Path With Heart" by Jack Kornfield. In chapter 12 - Accepting the Cycles of Spiritual Life he writes,  "What they forget is that after a period of wandering, the Buddha settled down to spend twenty-five years in the same monastery, teaching and offering himself as a community leader."

I thought the Buddha continued to wander and teach without permanently settling in any one place until the end of his life. Can anyone shed some light on this?
